Application Process

If you are interested in being considered for admission into the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: If you live outside of the Dos Pueblos High School attendance area, please make sure that you have an approved intradistrict transfer before beginning the application process. For more information about the intradistrict transfer process, please click here.
Step 2: Review the DPEA website, including the course descriptions and application overview, with your parent/guardian in order to help you determine if this academic program is appropriate for you. This website will provide answers to many questions that you and your parent/guardian may have about the DPEA.
Step 3: Ask your parent/guardian to contact your Dos Pueblos high school counselor and make sure that "Engineering Technology" has been selected as your first choice for your freshmen science class.
Step 4: Complete the DPEA application for admission.
Step 5: Turn in your completed application to the person/location indicated on the table below.
IMPORTANT:
  • A current copy of your seventh and eighth grade junior high or middle school unofficial academic transcript will be reviewed as part of your application.
  • If you attend a public jumior high school within the Santa Barbara School District (Goleta Valley, La Colina, La Cumbre, or Santa Barbara), your transcript will be added to your application envelope by Dos Pueblos High School counseling staff when it is received. Please do not request that your school counselor provide a transcript for you.
  • If you attend a private junior/middle school, you need to request a transcript from your school counselor and include it with your application.
  • Do not include personal letters, letters of recommendation, or any other materials not explicitly requested. These materials will not be reviewed.
